Arsenal has reignited its campaign for the top spot in the Premier League, bouncing back from a faltering end to the previous year with a convincing victory over struggling Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
Following a week-long winter break in Dubai, Mikel Arteta's team returned with newfound energy, securing three crucial points with goals from Gabriel, a Dean Henderson own goal, a Leandro Trossard finish, and two late strikes from Gabriel Martinelli.
The Gunners took the lead in the 11th minute when Gabriel headed in a corner. Shortly after, another set-piece led to an own goal by Crystal Palace goalkeeper Henderson, extending Arsenal's advantage.
Crystal Palace struggled to mount a response, and Arsenal further solidified their lead in the second half. Trossard capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity, displaying composure to confidently finish.
With the visitors already well beaten, Martinelli added the finishing touches to the win with two injury-time goals, both elegantly swept into the far corner.
This victory propels Arsenal to third place in the standings, trailing leaders Liverpool by two points, albeit having played one more game than Jurgen Klopp's side. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, remains in 14th position in the Premier League table.
