Suns' Booker Achieves Second Consecutive 50-Point Game Against Pelicans, According to ESPN News Services"

In a dazzling performance, Devin Booker showcased his scoring prowess once again, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 123-109 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. Booker's outstanding performance included a season-high 52 points in just 37 minutes, marking his second consecutive 50-point game against the Pelicans.

As Booker sank his sixth 3-pointer of the night to surpass the 50-point mark, he shared a moment with his father and grandfather seated in the stands behind the Suns' bench. The Mississippi coast native expressed his motivation, saying, "I like to put on a show for them. That's where my main motivation comes, from all my family that's here."

Booker's impressive feat made him the sixth player in NBA history to achieve consecutive 50-point games against a single opponent, joining the ranks of James Harden, Adrian Dantley, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain. Notably, Chamberlain accomplished this remarkable feat 38 times.

The Suns' head coach, Frank Vogel, praised Booker's killer instinct, emphasizing his spectacular performance. "It was a great team win, but Book was spectacular. He was able to torch these guys, but when the double-teams came, he shared it," Vogel remarked.

Kevin Durant contributed 26 points, and Jusuf Nurkic grabbed 15 rebounds for the Suns, contributing to their impressive team win. Phoenix shot 49.5% from the field and maintained a substantial lead of 30 points in the second half.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 24 points, but New Orleans struggled to match Booker's scoring prowess. The Pelicans faced challenges on both ends of the court, missing 32 of 42 3-point attempts, just two nights after setting a franchise record with 25 made threes in a previous game.

Pelicans coach Willie Green highlighted his team's difficulties, stating, "They kind of knocked us on our heels early. Once they did, it was just hard for us to get back into a rhythm."

Booker's aggressive and dynamic start set the tone for the Suns, creating opportunities for his teammates. Durant acknowledged Booker's impact, saying, "When he starts off aggressive, looking to score, that just opens the floor up for everybody."

The Suns' early dominance saw them leading by 23 points in the second quarter, although the Pelicans managed to trim the deficit to 17 by halftime. Booker continued his scoring onslaught in the second half, amassing 20 points in the third quarter alone, securing the Suns' convincing victory.

In the end, Phoenix's balanced performance and Booker's scoring prowess proved too much for the Pelicans, reaffirming the Suns as a formidable force in the NBA.
